Option Transfer Period for Contract Colleges
Option Transfer Period/Open Enrollment closes at 5:00 p.m. (EST) on December 18, 2015. The PS404 form and the FSA paper enrollment form must be delivered to Benefit Services and postmarked on or before December 18, 2015.
The Option Transfer Period is the time of the year when New York State announces the health insurance plan changes and rates for the upcoming year. You will be receiving information directly from the New York State Department of Civil Service.
As a reminder, during an Option Transfer:
Flexible Spending Accounts: If you would like to participate, you must enroll in a flexible spending account each year by using Workday. Please visit the flexible spending account page for information about how FSAs work.
Legal plan Insurance: You may enroll in the Legal Plan Insurance until December 31, 2015 for coverage effective January 1, 2016. Some of the services provided under this plan include the help of attorneys who will guide you with estate planning, eldercare issues, preparation of a will or power of attorney. More information on this plan is provided by ARAG.
Retirement - Tax Deferred Annuity: You may also change your TDA contributions. Contribution limits for 2016 can be found on the TDA web page. Your current TDA election will carry over automatically to 2016 unless you make a change. If you want to make a change to your TDA for the remainder of 2015 that will not carry over into 2016, make the change directly in the Benefits area of Workday. If you want to make a change to your TDA for 2016, and you're making the change during the Option Transfer enrollment period (through Dec. 18, 2015), you must use the "Open Enrollment Event" process located in your Workday inbox.
