Bring a Child to Work Day

"Cornell Quest"

Thursday, April 23, 2015

In celebration of Cornell’s Sesquicentennial year Bring a Child to Work Day has been redesigned for 2015. This year parents and their children will be sent on a Cornell Quest to find all of the great things the Cornell Community has to offer. Bring a camera. Put on your thinking caps and walking shoes and join in the quest! There will be challenges to do, places to find and lots of fun!

Starting on March 27 (through April 20) you will be able to register your child for a day of Cornell Quests.  You will be sent on a journey to discover all that is great about Cornell University.  Your day will be spent on a self-guided tour of interesting campus locations. Some of these include:

  • Go to the third floor of the Space Sciences Building to see 100,000 images of planets taken by NASA spacecraft.
  • Watch the softball game at 3 pm.
  • Sample some Cornell ice cream
  • See the largest brain on exhibit in Uris Hall
  • Find the tree used to create Jack Elliot’s artwork at the Plantations
  • Visit the Observatory to see the sun through a filtered lens.
  • More will be published as they are confirmed

Please note:

  1. Children must be supervised their parents/guardians at all times on campus
  2. Children are not allowed to ride in Cornell owned vehicles. (TCAT buses are allowed as noted above.)

Unfortunately, national Bring a Child to Work Day on April 23 conflicts with a New York State testing day this year. As this date isn’t set by Cornell and numerous events are taking place during April, we have decided not to reschedule.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you and your family. We encourage you to bring your children for all or part of the day. You can also return to campus on Saturday, April 25 when many of the Sesquicentennial displays will still be available.
